We are actively searching for an experienced Accounting Assistant and Payroll Administrator to join our Finance and Accounting teams! - Record, maintain, checks and balances time cards, processes salary and union changes in automated payroll system.
- Compile time worked from time cards or records, insure regular hours, overtime, sick pay, vacation, holidays are calculated correctly.
- Maintain vacation accruals in payroll and general ledger. Record biweekly payrolls to GL via journal entries (include payroll, taxes, benefits). Coordinate payroll taxes, filings. Respond to court assessments for garnishments, QRDOs, tax levy, etc.) Calculate terminated employees final paychecks.
- Prepare annual wage and benefit plans, monitor and analyze monthly, report to management any discrepancy. Deduct, record, remit union deductions (pension, health, dues), analyze and maintain expense and accrual accounts.
- Compile Monthly commission reports for Account Managers, tracking Earned, Pending and Paid Status. Provide analytics of Account Manager Sales/Margin vs. Account Manager Costs Budget, record and analyze compensation expense, prepaid and accruals. Prepare, monitor, analyze annual benefit and insurance expense plans monthly. - Review all insurance invoices and approve payment. Record company insurance expense, reconcile accrual accounts. Deduct and monitor employee flex spending accounts and programs.
Accounting Related:
- Post Daily Cash Transactions from Bank including: deposits, E-payments, posted checks
- Maintain Rolling Stock Fleet reports, ensure proper annual licensing and issuance of gas cards for all units, Maintain Fixed Asset records with FAS software, ensure detail reports agree with GL balances. Create/Maintain Capitalized Lease schedules, classify monthly Current vs. Long-Term values on Balance Sheet
- Associates degree or higher, 3+ years relevant experience with payroll and accounting.
- General accounting knowledge.
- Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Must have thorough knowledge of payroll tax regulations and ability to meet tight deadlines and ensure accuracy with highly confidential information.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Paycom Payroll/HR software
